Well, I did it now. I decided to try to be as cute as my friend Carol, and after an hour of messing with blog templates, now I've messed mine up. If anyone has help for me, I would take it!!! Somehow, I messed up my HTML and can't get my sidebar back to the side. It went to the bottom of the page and it's driving me crazy. I read the blogger help forums. They say I added something too wide - but I didn't add anything. I removed the cute template I had tried - but no luck. I clicked the tab that says, "Edit HTML", and looked at it. I clicked a button at the bottom that said something like, "view classic template" or something - but I didn't do anything in the actual HTML box. I promise.
The sidebar dropped when I chose a template called "Simple II" on the Blogger site. I realized it was a template with no sidebar, so I went back and chose the one I've had all along, but when it applied the change, it was still a single column template, with no sidebar.
Any suggestions? I'm desperate - thanks - Jen :)
Have you tried looking on the page elements page under layouts? You could try copying and pasting it back onto side by adding a gadget? Its so hard to give advice over the computer when you are talking about computers, a lot of this stuff I just keep trying something different until it works or I have to start all over. I know not something you really want to hear, but it was how I learned.
ReplyDeleteThis stuff is where I'm worthless. I'm so sorry friend.
ReplyDeleteI think Christy has it, but click on layout and then just drag your page elements back to the side. i think.
ReplyDeleteThanks Kandi and Christy. I can't drag them back to the side - tried that several times. I've found that I can add new gadgets to the sidebar, but not bring my old ones up. So, my phenomenal niece is going to look at my HTML. If she can't fix it - then I'll probably just do a bunch of cut and pasting.
ReplyDeleteWish me luck - Jen :) (except that I don't believe in luck!)
