Healthy habits

That's kind of a funny title for me to blog about, because I feel like I have very few physically healthy habits. I have several spiritually healthy habits, and I think I'm pretty emotionally balanced, but as for "eat right and exercise" - I feel pretty pathetic.

Having said that, I had a thought today that led to this post. On one of my pre-Christmas, "I'm almost done shopping," trips to the store, Jeff said, (spoiler warning for Santa fans) "Go ahead and pick up some things for your stocking." Now, before you say, "How lame," just know that I enjoy that task, and it does not take away from Christmas morning fun to already know some of what's in the stocking! There's a water bottle I'd had my eye on for awhile - but it was too expensive. Charged with filling my own stocking, I decided no expense was too great - and I bought the non-plastic, flip straw top, pink water bottle.

I've noticed - since receiving the gift of a nifty water bottle that I like, don't let my kids drink out of, and carry with me because it's cute - that I've been drinking more water. Thus is born this list of simple, silly, things to do to help yourself to healthy habits.

1. Buy a cute water bottle. Don't share it with your kids.
2. Work out with a friend - it's more fun, and it holds you accountable.
3. Invest in relationships, making time for activities you both enjoy. Make it physically active if you can. (Think -going to the park to play catch with your kids.)
4. Find something you love to do and make it a priority. I've been playing tennis with my mom weekly, and it's become a habit I wouldn't want to give up.
5. Buy a vitamin organizer. I have taken my vitamins 50% more regularly since I invested 5 bucks in a plastic, Walgreens, daily flip top organizer thinga-ma-bobber.

That's it for me tonight - not a long list. I would love to hear some of your ideas. Leave a comment about a healthy habit that's working for you!
