the Miracle - Part 1b

We've been home from eye surgery just over a week now. It only took 6 days for Abby to get over the habit of tilting her head to the left in order to see clearly. For the first couple days she dropped her head into its default position and staggered around like a slightly drunken sailor because her eyes didn't work right in that position anymore. Each day that passes brings her head into a more upright position, sinking gently to the left as she gets tired each night. I snapped this picture yesterday at dinner - one of the first photos of her with her head held high. I find myself in awe, of this little miracle.

Why do I call her a miracle? Do you have hours to hear her story? From early fears of losing the pregnancy, through an emergency C-section, and five surgeries later, we have a beautiful, thriving, intelligent little girl - whom the doctors said would never hold her head up straight - running and jumping and playing with her brothers.  As Abby climbed over those train barrels with her head held high (see "the Chase"), I could agree with my misty-eyed friend, that she truly is a miracle.

  2. As I said in my email last night, WOW! I just love this picture of her with her head straight and like she's ready to take on the world, or at least dinner! I'm with you, sometimes God works by using science.
    Love you!

  3. Well done post Jennifer. I thank God for his hand upon Abby's life, and how he worked through others(you) to make this miracle happen.

p.s. Glad to hear your business venture is moving forward. I bet God is working miracles there too.
