O.K. Here's the haircut:
First, we took time to appreciate how long it was,
Then we braided a cute braid. I confess, I did this twice, because if I had cut off the first braid, her hair would have been much shorter than I wanted.

Jeff captured some real-time footage of how I felt about this hair cut. I wasn't sure I was ready for it, but Abby wanted hair "short like Josiah's", so I felt like this was a good compromise

Now we have a little keepsake braid. I have one of these in a baby book from my first hair cut - and I think it's so cool. But I have had people say it's a little weird. . . what do you think - remind you of a dead rat, or a cute reminder of baby hair?

Funny that she said she wanted it short like Josiah's. When Mia was 3 she said she wanted a bowl cut, short like our Josiah's. Finally I tackled it, then evened it up, and evened it up, and evened it up and she ended up with a very short haircut that I called her pixie style so it sounded less like a mistake. She likded it but now she has the longest hair ever! Way down to her waist.
ReplyDeleteAbby looks cute! Nice job mom.
