Most of you know (sorry for those that don't) that Abby has had several minor health issues since birth. To name a few - she has an extra toe on her right foot, she has a couple kidney/urinary tract issues, and she has a couple hemangiomas (harmless "birth mark" bumps). The latest issue is that her gross motor development (muscle tone/neck control) is delayed. She's certainly making progress, but it is slower than the average 4 month old.
So, due to the variety of her issues, our pediatrician has referred us to Emmanuel Children's Health System in Portland. He wants to have her evaluated so that we can see if there is anything underlying all these symptoms.
Many of you have asked us whether we have been able to get an appointment for Abby at Emmanuel. Thank you for your prayers and support. Because of the snow it took awhile (no one was in the office at Emmanuel), but I now have two appointments.
The first is next Tuesday with a geneticist. He will be looking for any congenital reason for Abby having multiple minor health issues.
Then on March 13th we have an appointment with a developmental specialist. My understanding is that she will give Abby a developmental evaluation and let us know where we go from here. I appreciate your prayers.
